French luxury design brand Hermes is reportedly mulling over entering Web 3.0 after submitting a trademark application encompassing cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the metaverse to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) recently.
The trademark includes downloadable software to view, store and manage virtual goods, digital collectibles, cryptocurrencies and NFTs “for usage in online worlds,” according to the filing.
It also registered trademarks for retail shop services displaying virtual goods, offering an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of virtual goods, hosting fashion and trade events in virtual, augmented or mixed reality environments, and representing virtual goods, US media reported.
